Our puppy is only about 5 pounds right now, and will likely be under 10 pounds as an adult. She fits the bed very nicely, with some room to grow.
When the bed first arrived we fluffed it by hand, and then put it in the dryer for a couple minutes to warm it up (as suggested by some other reviewers) before introducing it to our pet. At first she just wanted to bite and wrestle with it, but after two days she realized it's potential as a cozy nap spot. She loves it and will go in it on her own.
The top cover is stiffened with some kind of fabric interfacing which keeps it from collapsing. It is very effective at the Extra Small size, but I can't say for the larger sizes.
