I may try to figure out a way to adjust the tummy area, so the coat doesn’t constantly move. I haven’t tried just using a collar and leash, and not using the D rings on the coat. I wish some manufacturers would think of these kinds of things!
Now what I do like, is that this dog coat goes on SUPER EASY, the zipper seems to be well made, and her longer hair does not get caught in it. The D rings for the leash is a great idea, ( no messing with her harness), but the buckle should be adjustable.
It hasn’t been really snowy yet here,, so I don’t really know about how water resistant it is.
Same for the durability, I haven’t had it very long, and have not washed it yet.
It is a nice coat, but is overpriced ! I expected a better fit, with more adjustable elastic in the mid section. I thought on line, it also looks thicker/ warmer then what it really is.
UPDATE from today, Nov 30 2022 . I walked my dog this morning, and used her regular collar to attach her leash . That so far has fixed the problem of this coat sliding from side to side!!
Now the rest-1) the colors were a perfect match to the product description/photos 2) the zippers, although plastic, should be fine and lock down at the top-they zip smoothly 3) the drawstring collar is a real plus to keep necks warm 4) the D Rings are solid for your lead 5) the interior fleece fabric and exterior nylon by design should provide the warmth, water resistance, promised 6) the hi-viz safety strips @ the neck are important. Finally, they don't look cheap and the dogs get into them easily and the back placed zipper is the only way to go. That's it.
We faught with liquid protein, specialized foods, meds, and a neutering but I just couldn't get him to gain weight. I saw this as a reviewable purchase and remembered him being skin and bones but still being warm enough that he was pulling to go farther on his walks. I just wish he would have been healthy enough that I didn't have to turn him around because he had to use his remaining energy to get back home. I miss my buddy. Just putting this on made him happy and got his tail wagging. He was an awesome dog. Ten years wasn't enough time with him.
Overall is you just need a coat for light use - leash walks or brief times outside in areas free of anything to rub up against I think it's a good choice. If you need something that will withstand a little more abuse - then I would look elsewhere.
I purchased this brand and style along with another brand (Hurta) for my other dogs at the same time to compare ..... and though the others were more money, they have proved to be worth it for me. Far more adjustable in fit, no zippers, fabric is more waterproof and durable. They have withstood the same conditions and worse without any issues.
